"I started Tart D'Ouro with a recipe, a dream, and a mission."
Growing up surrounded by the flavors of Portugal, Claudia always knew she wanted to share that warmth with others. But when she became a founder, she became something more — a home for the families who would build this bakery alongside her.
Tart D'Ouro was born from family recipes passed down through generations, a long-held dream, and a deep sense of improving the lives of those who need it most. My intention was simple: to bring the heart of traditional Portuguese baking — especially our beloved pastéis de nata, with their flaky crust and silky caramelized custard — to new tables and new hearts.
What began as a love for honest, artisanal pastries grew into something bigger. Single mothers and veteran single fathers work beside me every day, shaping each golden tart with care. We bake using the same time-honored recipes and pure ingredients my family always used — unbleached wheat flour, whole milk, fresh eggs, bright lemon peel, and cinnamon. Nothing artificial. Nothing rushed.
Every pastel de nata that leaves our bakery carries more than the flavors of home. It holds the strength of the people who made it, and a shared belief that meaningful work and dignity can open brighter paths for families.
Tart D'Ouro is more than a bakery. It is a place where heritage meets community — one golden tart at a time.
Every recipe traces back to Portugal. Small-batch, baked fresh each morning using traditional techniques — nothing frozen, nothing rushed.
Living wages, on-site childcare, and an employee investment fund — because a business that lifts its people up lifts the whole community.
Every visit is treated with care and intention — because you deserve to feel special every single morning.
